Jammu, May 03 (KNO): Since the Parliamentary elections on two seats of Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir ended, the saffron party is utilising the free time of its leaders for campaigning in neighbouring states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
Two groups of leaders have been given the responsibility to reach out to the people at the ground level and seek votes for the party candidates.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the prominent leaders who have been sent to Himachal Pradesh are former legislators Ashwani Sharma, Neelam Langesh, Daleep Singh Parihar and others.
The Member Parliament (MP) candidate for Jammu Lok Sabha seat Jugal Kishore Sharma will be campaigning in Punjab along with other leaders.
"The party leadership has decided to utilise the time and experience of these leaders for the party in HP and Punjab and ensure that party candidates get more and more votes. There are areas in both the states where party leaders from Jammu already enjoy good reputation and have campaigned for the party candidates in the past as well," a senior BJP leader, who is part of the group campaigning in HP.
This is unlike Congress party whose leaders are sitting idle in Jammu and Udhampur Lok Sabha constituencies and their services aren't being utilized by the party anywhere.
